Trishuli River Rafting

The Trishuli is the most easily accessable rafting river from Kathmandu and blends well with a journey to Pokhara or Chitwan National Park. Rafting on the Trisuli can be a for few hours up to three days dependent on interest. The river is ideal for beginners however there is plenty of white water to keep things interesting along the way.Trishuli is most popular rafting river with impressive gorges, moderate water,a few exciting rapids, some easiers sections, all easily accessible from Kathmandu and Pokhara. The name of this river is after a legend that says, high in the Himalaya at Gosainkund the god Shiva drove his trident into the ground to create three springs –the source of the river and hence its name Trisuli.

The river has carved some truly impressive gorges in its lower part as it cut its way through the 2000 meter high Mahavarat Range. These gorges are also the rout flowed by the main Prithivi Highway and the road diesel trucks undoubtedly detract from the River itself. The opposite side to the road is relatively wild and you should see some wildlife, a profusion of colorful bird, including eagles and vultures.
